With over two decades of experience as a corporate transactional attorney in major international law firms, Lara Slachta brings an exceptional skill set in domestic and international private investment funds. A Yale Law School alumna and London School of Economics graduate, she has held roles as an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and WilmerHale LLP, as well as Vice President and in-house counsel at Wellington Management Company LLP. Lara’s career began as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Amman, Jordan, where she founded a women’s health clinic and taught economics, solidifying her commitment to impactful service.
Sheena Vye
Chief Operating Officer
Sheena built a successful service and retail business from the ground up, leading it for four years before selling it profitably. With certifications like CSM and PMP, she transitioned into project management roles, most recently as a Project Manager & Change Adoption Analyst at an environmental consulting firm. There, Sheena led cross-departmental projects, including a compliance-focused Salesforce implementation. Now, she's ready to apply her operations and project management expertise to drive growth and innovation at a forward-thinking law firm.
David Awad
Of Counsel
David combines expertise in software engineering, physics, law, and investment. He holds degrees in computer science and physics from Rutgers University, a master’s in computer science from Georgia Tech, and a law degree from Northwestern California University. David has contributed to leading organizations like Tumblr, Codecademy, and R3, co-founded a nonprofit supporting the homeless, and served as a cybersecurity teaching assistant. In investment, he has performed technical due diligence and deal evaluations for private equity and venture capital firms. David leverages his multidisciplinary background to support technology companies and investments succeed.
Kian Mirshokri
Intern
Kian combines leadership, service, and resilience in his journey toward a legal career. A UC Santa Barbara graduate, he honed his passion for advocacy through student government, driving initiatives to improve campus life. Currently in his gap year, Kian is preparing for law school while exploring the intersection of law and community service. He volunteers at his local food bank, supporting efforts to combat hunger, and trains for a triathlon, reflecting his dedication to discipline and growth.
